The Chico Creek Nature Center invites you to bid farewell to summer break in the sweetest way possible at our Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 17th, from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM. Cool off with delicious Shubert’s ice cream while exploring the beauty of Bidwell Park and our educational wildlife exhibits.

This family-friendly event is packed with activities for all ages. Enjoy face painting, crafts, bounce houses, and nature walks. Meet our animal ambassadors up close and learn about their fascinating lives from our knowledgeable staff. It's the perfect way to spend a sunny day with friends and family.

Join our ‘Meet Our Animals’ presentation and meet John the tortoise, Coral the snake, Sue the tarantula, Flash the turtle, and more. Our naturalists will introduce you to these incredible creatures, sharing fascinating facts and stories about their lives and habitats.

Bring the whole family! Our family-friendly activities include short and easy guided nature hikes, exciting bounce houses, and creative face painting to transform into your favorite animals. There's something for everyone, so come out and make lasting memories with us!

Before you leave, make sure to grab a scoop of free Shubert's ice cream. Cool off and indulge in a variety of mouth-watering flavors. It's the perfect way to add a little sweetness to the end of summer. Don't miss out on this tasty treat!
