Ann Willmann Playground dedication at Rotary Centennial Park
Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD) honored former CARD General Manager Ann Willmann by naming its newest play area at Rotary Centennial Park, located at Ceres Avenue and Whitewood Way, after her during a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, October 18.
Ann served the Chico community in her role as CARD General Manager from 2015 until her retirement in October 2022.
She was instrumental in stewarding several developments during her tenure at CARD, including a transformation of the overgrown, empty lot into the beautiful Rotary Centennial Park.
More than 100 friends and family, members of the Chico Rotary Organization, and the CARD Board of Directors and staff gathered and celebrated Ann and the new area that now shares her namesake.
CARD is appreciative of all Ann's contributions to the CARD organization and to the Chico Community. We wish her health and happiness in her retirement and are proud to feature Rotary Centennial Park and Ann Willmann Play Area in CARD's park portfolio!
Nestled in the northeast of Chico, Rotary Centennial Park is CARD's beautiful new addition to our growing list of facilities. Rotary Centennial Park has some amazing features that are sure to be loved by neighbors and the community at large. They include:
- A multi-use turf field
- Children's play area
- Multiple areas with shaded picnic tables & structures
- Basketball court
This park is not reservable, but you are allowed to have a bounce house as long as these 3 requirements are met:
- It is self-powered (must have its own generator)
- It is for day use (not left overnight in order to avoid damaging the turf)
- It is not a for-profit event (you cannot charge admission to the bounce house)
