Human Resources Generalist

• The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is an integral member of the Administration Division of the Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD). Under the primary direction of the Finance & HR Director and with guidance from the General Manager, the HR Generalist supports and enhances the day-to-day operations of the District’s Human Resources functions. This position provides administrative and technical support across all departments, ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures, supporting employee lifecycle processes, and helping foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture. Key responsibilities include benefits and compliance support, recruitment and onboarding, training coordination, performance management tracking, and maintaining accurate employee records.

Adult Sports

We’re seeking people with officiating or playing experience who understand the adult sports environment and the value of creating position experiences for participants. They must also provide great customer service, enjoy interacting with the public, be problem solvers, and have good communication skills both written and verbal.

Swim Instructor

• CARD Swim Instructors are responsible for creating and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate swim lessons for participants of all ages and skill levels, ranging from Parent/Tot classes through advanced swimmers. Instructors design lesson plans that prioritize water safety, confidence, and skill progression while adapting instruction to meet the needs of individual swimmers. Through clear communication, positive reinforcement, and consistent structure, Swim Instructors help foster a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages lifelong enjoyment of the water and aligns with CARD’s commitment to accessible, community-centered recreation.

Lifeguard

• Seasonal, $19.00/hr

• CARD Lifeguards are responsible for the safety and well-being of all patrons participating in aquatics-related programs and activities. Lifeguards maintain constant surveillance of assigned aquatic areas, proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all users.

Events

Event Attendant

• The Event attendant plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction during events held at CARD parks and facilities. Traditionally, the Event Attendant performs a wide variety of duties related to customer service, custodial, and maintenance to ensure our facilities are open, ready for use, and maintained throughout the event.
• This flexible part-time job works well for the working professional, a college student, or someone wanting to put a little excitement in their life on the weekends. *Please note, this position is NOT for an event planner.
