Welcome to CARD's Hiking Club, for grades 2nd-8th! This exclusive club will focus on showing participants the wonderful world of hiking in Chico's very own Upper Park, while exploring its native animals and plants. Each day will not only feature a hike, but will also include a game, activity, or scavenger hunt to add some extra excitement!

We begin at nautical twilight, when the first stars appear and the world shifts into night. Learn about the park's geology, wildlife, and night sky from a certified naturalist's perspective.

Explore Upper Bidwell Park's spring bloom and discover how soil composition, microclimates, and geology shape the diversity of native wildflowers and pollinators. This interpretive hike emphasizes the ecological and geomorphic relationships that sustain Chico's wildflower displays.

Embark on a guided 4-hour trek to Bear Hole - one of Upper Bidwell Park's most iconic and scenic destinations. Along the way, we'll explore the volcanic origins, erosional forces, and riparian habitats that shape this dramatic canyon landscape.
