January 12, 2026 – In a heartwarming display of community spirit, students at Forest Ranch Charter School presented a donation to the future Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) Aquatics & Recreation Center on Friday morning, choosing to invest their hard-earned penny war proceeds in a facility that will serve generations of local families.

January 5, 2026 – CARD will host a series of three Community Input Sessions this January to help shape the future of Chico’s parks. As part of CARD’s 2026-2031 Five-Year Master Plan, these sessions invite the community to give input about what amenities, improvements, and ideas that the community wants to see throughout its local parks.
