Michelle Brooks Field

Michelle Brooks Field is named in memory of Michelle Brooks, the daughter of Fred and Terry Brooks. Fred, a past CARD board member and professor of Recreation & Parks Management at Chico State, dedicated much of his career to parks and recreation. Michelle was a talented and active athlete who played soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, and field hockey. She passed away at just 13 years old on May 4, 1995, following heart failure. The field serves as a heartfelt tribute to her life, her love of sports, and the Brooks family’s lasting contributions to the Chico community.
Legacy Landmarks is an ongoing project, and we welcome your participation. If you have stories, photos, information, or questions to share, please contact us at 530-895-4711 or info@chicorec.gov.
