This class is a fun, hands-on acrylic painting class where creativity meets the fundamentals. Each session explores core painting skills like color mixing, composition, brushwork, shading, and texture through guided practice and experimentation.

Develop the dynamic life skill of sewing! After school lessons teach basic sewing machine usage and proficiency. Students improve fine motor skills, follow patterns and instructions, solve construction puzzles and create with textiles. Fall, winter and spring sessions include various projects such as bags, pillows, hats, slippers, pajama pants, stuffies, shirts, hoodies and more. Projects expand as time, interest and skill level grow.

Children know something that some adults may have forgotten...art is fun!! Children naturally approach art with a freedom and curiosity that makes art enjoyable. It is a privilege as a teacher to encourage this joy of learning and growth through artistic exploration and expression. During these art classes, we spend time drawing and painting, using various mediums such as pencil, colored pencil, and watercolor. We may also use tempura paint, acrylic paint, and collage for various projects and crafts.

Pedal Press founders Cathryn and Julia have held youth-led spaces for young people to explore their creative power for ten years now with Pedal Press, an artmaking, youth-focused community organization. No prior experience necessary; just be curious and ready to experiment, and we'll give you the support you need to find your creative flow. We'll explore a variety of art media and printmaking, with the optional goal of creating work to sell at a semester's-end pop-up market. We'll support you in going from idea to creation, and then to market, with YOU making the choices from start to finish.

This creative, hands-on class introduces young artists to a wide variety of art techniques and materials, including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and more. Students will explore color, shape, texture, and composition while learning how to express themselves through art.

Sew Classy develops the dynamic life skill of sewing in a small group setting (maximum of 6). Prepare for the season of giving by creating your own, homemade gifts like ornaments, decorations, stocking stuffers or toys.
