Little Flag Football

TOUCHDOWN! Get ready to learn the fundamentals of flag football in a fun, active, and supportive environment! Our instructional program helps young athletes develop key football skills like throwing, catching, running routes, flag pulling, agility, and teamwork. Whether your child is new to the game or looking to sharpen their skills, this program is designed to keep them engaged, active, and excited to play!

You will not be contacted by a coach before the program and should show up the first day at your registered time ready to play!

Program Information

🤸‍♀️Ages: 3-5 years old

📍Location: Chapman Park, adjacent to the Dorothy F. Johnson (DFJ) Center at 775 East 16th St.

🏈Equipment: All equipment is provided for the program. Participants should arrive in athletic clothing, athletic closed-toed shoes, and bring plenty of water!

⛅Weather: Programs canceled due to rain, heat, or air quality will be rescheduled for up to one week at the season's end or credited to your account. All updates will be posted at least one hour before the program starts at www.ChicoRec.gov/fields

Little Hoopsters

Let your child show you their triple threat! This instructional basketball program will highlight defensive rules (for example: stay between your man and the basket), offensive moves, and more! At the end of each session, we will focus on gameplay with scrimmages and small-sided games (3 on 3, Steal the Bacon, etc).

Little Soccer

GOALLLLL!! This instructional program will get your little one dribbling, passing, and kicking in no time! Each day will include individual and team-building skill stations and gameplay.

Little All Stars

The best of all sports is compacted into this five-week program! We will introduce soccer, flag football, basketball, tee ball, golf, and more throughout the weeks! We will be starting with Soccer on Week 1.

CARD Sports Institute (CSI)

Welcome to the CARD Sports Institute ( aka: CSI)! Each session will focus on developing individual skills, with the progression of fundamentals, footwork, and technique. Each day will contain a structured breakdown and development curriculum for each of our athletes based on the selected sport.

CARD Hiking Club

Welcome to CARD's Hiking Club, for grades 2nd-8th! This exclusive club will focus on showing participants the wonderful world of hiking in Chico's very own Upper Park, while exploring its native animals and plants. Each day will not only feature a hike, but will also include a game, activity, or scavenger hunt to add some extra excitement!
